FHOG to Drop $7000 for New Homes from 1st Jan 2010 Print E-mail

The reduction of $7,000 at the end of September in the First Home Owners Stimulus Package to $14,000 for new homes and $10,500 for established homes will have further impact on the supply of housing to the growing WA population. The First Home Owners Grant will be further reduced from $14,000 to $7,000 at the end of the year.

First home buyers now have until 31st December 2009 to have their plans drawn and contracts signed with their builder before the grant reduces to $7,000 on 1st Jan 2010. The building industry generally shuts down during the Christmas and New Year break and as such all orders for the FHOG need to be lodged by the end of November so that there is sufficient time for documentation to be drawn and contract signed before the Ross North Christmas shut-down on 22nd December.
